The International Peace Belt: The Journey Continues

Haiti

January 2006

It was a great pleasure to be able to take the International Peace Belt to my troubled land, Haiti. Our January 2006 team was extremely proud to be able to take the Belt on this trip. The residents of the capital, Port-Au-Prince, think “peace” is a foreign word. When Wendy told me there was a possilbilty to take the Peace Belt to my troubled homeland, I instantly accepted the offer and was glad.

Upon arrival in Port-Au-Prince, we blessed Haiti with the Peace Belt. We spent seven days there. The Haitian people welcomed the Belt in a special ceremony, held at our church headquarters, in the city of Les Cayes. We took the Belt to three different locations, everywhere the people were amazed at the craftsmanship of an instrument that truly represents the world through the countries’ coins. One of the most noticeable facts for me was the local artists found a new way to wear the Belt, across the shoulder, like a sash. I was delighted to see the smiles on their faces. For me,this Belt truly represents the world linking togeher, especially as it travels from country to country, promoting one thing that the whole world needs today, peace.

I would also suggest to anyone to support the cause of the Artists for World Peace, an organization who’s main focus is promoting love, peace, and caring for mankind. Wendy, Haiti thanks you for the International Peace Belt. B.E.M. thanks you for your partnership in helping to make a difference in the lives of the most needy.

With the Spirit of Peace,
Pastor Jean-Lubin Beaucejour
