Our Second Child: Roudlyn Neptune

In 2006, Artists for World Peace, Inc. began sponsoring it's second Child of Peace, Roudlyn Neptune of Haiti. He was brought to us by Pastor Jean-Lubin Beaucejour, Director/Coordinator of B.E.M.USA, who resides in Wallingford, CT.

Roudlyn Neptune
Haiti
Name: Roudlyn Neptune
No siblings
DOB: March 10, 1998
Father's Name: Rodene Neptune
Mother's Name: Nana Pierre Neptune

Our Third Child: Yu Zhangcheng

Progress Report for Summer 2006 from Half the Sky Foundation:

Zhangcheng can sit by herself and plays with all sorts of toys, climbs slowly to find the interesting toys, and holds a toy with each hand, knocking them together, but for the toys that she doesn't like, she will pick up them and throw them away. She is very attached to me, likes to lean on my legs and play with toys or my clothes, and likes to stand on my knees holding hands and jumping. In the morning, when she finds me, she will stretch her hands out to me trying to be held in my arms, and phonate "ma, ma". When talks to me, she uses her own words such as "du, du". Seeing food, she will look at me dancing with joy. Next quarter I will pay more attention to improving her language ability and strengthening her legs.

I feel honored to be able to carry and wear the Peace Belt in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The location is one of my 14 World Wheel, Global Peace through the Arts sites circling the planet where we have 300 acres for a nature reserve to preserve the rainforest life and a center where guests can come and the Shuar community can gather. I have just started the Shuar School for the children and have begun carving a stone sculpture “Shuar Woman of the Sacred Waterfall with Two Anacandos.” The belt will be blest by a Shaman in an ayahuasca ceremony and then worn by me in a ceremony with the Shuar children.

A Message from Chantal

In January 2008 I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to celebrate life and to increase cancer awareness and help fund cancer support programs by raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. While I climb, I will also proudly be carrying the International Peace Belt. To me this belt symbolizes world peace and healing. It will be a great reminder that we need to bring peace and healing to Mother Earth and all that inhabit her space and to be thankful for the healing that I have received.

Throughout my journey with cancer, Kilimanjaro represented hope and light at the end of the tunnel. I believe that hope and faith are two necessary ingredients for healing and that being of service to others is an important aspect of life that gives it more meaning. I am to report that I am a thriver living a bountiful life now.

My goal is to not only raise $1 for every foot of the climb for a total of $19,340 but my climbing wish is to be an inspiration to others who are facing or those supporting someone facing this ordeal to show that there is hope out there and life afterwards.

One of the gifts that I received through my experience with cancer was learning how to tap into the great personal reserves of strength that we all possess that we don’t always realize that we have. Another one was learning how to work together for the greater common good and to be able to ask for help.

With my rediscovered gifts of strength and willingness to ask for help, I now provide you an opportunity to be of service to others by supporting this worthwhile cause with your donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure-CT. Together we can make a difference!

You can do this by going to www.upkili.com, clicking on climbers-sponsors and clicking on the “make a donation” button below my name and picture. Also, for climb tracking purposes, please click the “Yes – this is an honor gift” box and list “Chantal” along with the name of the person you are honoring by making this donation.

Donations can also be made by check payable to “Komen-CT” and can be mailed to:

Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Kili Climb
350 Church Street – Metro Center – Lobby Level , Hartford, CT 06103

Any questions, feel free to call me at 203-687-6199.
Let’s continue to pray for world peace so that we may all be healed!

Peace & Blessings,
Chantal
